Exercise Therapy

Exercise therapy plays an important part in your rehabilitation here at Barrington Health Physiotherapy. There are different types of exercises that may be incorporated into your rehabilitation programme, depending on your injury. Your Physiotherapist will determine which types of exercises will best help you to return to your normal activities. These may include:

  • Strengthening
  • Stretching
  • Range of motion
  • Balance/Proprioception
  • Cardiovascular/Aerobic exercise
  • Sports specific exercises

Your exercises may sometimes require equipment such as a theraband or small weights, your Physiotherapist will ensure you have the appropriate equipment.

Your Physiotherapist will teach you a series of exercises for you to do in between your physiotherapy sessions. We will teach your exercises to you during your appointment and make sure you have a good understanding of them and correct technique before you leave the clinic. 

Here at Barrington Health Physiotherapy, we have a software program called Physitrack which we can use build an exercise programme for you. We will either send your exercises to you via email or give you a printed copy of your programme so you remember how to do your exercises at home.
